ECOXGEAR Ambassador Todd Purifoy

November 28, 2014ECOXGEARBy admin

Todd Purifoy is a producer for Texas Music TV and an ECOXGEAR ambassador. We took some time to ask Todd some questions about what he does and what it’s like to be an ambassador so you could get to know Todd a little better!

Q. Can you tell us more about Texas Music TV and what you do there?
A. I have always had a strong love of music, and a desire to promote the artists who make their living here (in Texas).  In my view, there was fantastic music being made here, and I wanted to do what I could to make sure more people were aware of it.  I also began consulting and even managing some artists in an effort to help them down the road. Naturally, the idea of broadcasting these artists on television was appealing to me as a next logical step.  Our goal is simply to expose and promote amazing musicians, writers, and performers to as many people as possible.  The Texas Music Scene Television is our way of getting the word out as far as possible.

I personally act as the Still Photographer; I produce a segment of the show that highlights new and up and coming singers and songwriters.  Much of our show takes place on a huge stage, and sometimes we want to present a single artist in an acoustic setting perhaps. That is where my segment comes into play.

Q. Tell us a little about yourself.
A.
I was born and raised in Orange, Texas, a town on the South East Texas border with Louisiana. I attended college at Texas A&M University, and graduated with a degree in Agricultural Economics.  After graduating, I remained in College Station, Texas for quite some time.  It was during that period when I really started to take a greater interest in music.

While I enjoy my work intensely, I also grew up with a very tight family.  My own wife and kids are very involved in the music as well.  We have 4 children, 3 grandchildren, and 1 on the way!  We are lucky enough to have them all live relatively close, so we get to spend plenty of time with them!

Q. How does ECOXGEAR fit into your lifestyle?
A. Music is big part of my life in nearly all aspects.  As someone packing gear to and from video shoots or through the woods, it is nice to be able to have music with me.  While headphones are occasionally nice, my real passion is SHARING music with others.  That is where ECOXGEAR comes in.  I can sit around a campfire and fire up tunes in a matter of seconds.  I have used the gear on video shoots as the guide track for shooting videos.  It is easy to pack, and gives me complete mobility.  I never have to go anywhere without music!

Q. Why did you want to be an ambassador?
A. As a photographer and technologist, I am naturally a “gear head.”  I just love gadgets, toys, and shiny things!  More specifically, I love gadgets that serve a real purpose for people like myself. When I find one of those rare tools that genuinely makes my world better or more convenient, I share it…and share it hard.  I love that idea that we live in a time when not only can we have music with us at all times, but that it can also sound amazing.  That is important to me.

Q. What is it like representing ECOXGEAR?
A. I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t’ fun.  I am not the most serious guy in the world, and I just want to have a good time.  More importantly, I want the people around me (family and friends) to have a good time as well.  I enjoy being the go-to guy for neat stuff!  I love sharing it with others.

When asked if there was anything else he’d like to add, Todd said, “I truly appreciate the opportunity to represent ECOXGEAR.  I genuinely love the products, and I enjoy the friendship of the other ambassadors that I have met.”
